2 Corinthians 12:7 (Weymouth's N.T.) ... Because the revelations were of such grandeur --- therefore, lest I should be over-elated  there was given me a thorn in the flesh, Satan's angel (messenger from Satan) to torture me.   

This is a case where Christians have to be aware and keep things in perspective where the Word is concerned. 

"Through the abundance of revelations. Look at all the revelations God has given to me ... I'm really something special!" 

Did Paul say that?  NO!  He was just blessed that God shared His revelations with him, but was no more special than any of us.  He was to go and share his revelations with people.
