Ephesians 4:22,24 ... "You put off" (you have to do this) "your former conduct (your original evil nature) of the old man with the deceitful lusts, and put on" (you have to do this) "the new man which was created by God in righteousness and true holiness".  

Ephesians 5:17 says, "Do not be unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord is".  The Amplified Bible says it this way: "Do not be vague and thoughtless and foolish, but undertand and firmly grasp what the will of the Lord is". 

Firmly grasp  and understand God's will ... because to not understand is not wise ... it's very foolish.  Get into God's Word, the Scriptures, and find out what His will is.
