Numbers 23:19 ... God is not a man, that He should lie; neither the son of man, that He should repent; Hath He said, and shall He not do it?  Or hath He spoken, and shall He not make it good? 

God won't lie ... He cannot lie because this is one of His Laws to Himself.  He's not going to allow anything the devil does to be related to what He does or what He can do.  People say that God can do anything.  NO, He can't.  He cannot violate or do anything contrary to His own Laws that He made for Himself. 

They are also Laws for us and are written in the Scriptures.  All we need to do is find them and  if we don't want to obey them we don't have to ... but then we'll pay the consequences for our disobedience.  We won't get off scott-free.
