The Apostle Paul states in verse 15 of Romans 7, in the AMP(Classic):  "I do not understand my own actions ... I am baffled, bewildered.  I do not practice or accomplish what I wish, but I do the very thing that I loathe." 

His spirit is condeming him for doing this and his flesh is telling him ... "It's OK,  It's not going to bother you.  We've been doing this for years and what did it do to you?  Nothing." 

Do not believe this ... it's a big lie that the devil is telling you!  Now that you've been born again and have made Jesus your Savior and Lord, your old actions must change.  Sin has been working in your life ever since the beginning ... it works against your intimacy with the Godhead and it's time to get rid of it!    Trash it, get out of it!
