2 Corinthians 5:17 says that "old things are passed away and all things have become new" ... so you have to get rid of all that old stuff.  Once you've been delivered and made free of those old things, you'll have the desire to let go of all the extra baggage that came into the Kingdom with you. 

God won't force you to let go of it, but He will work with you.  He'll start knocking off all the worst, then begin to polish you and keep polishing as long as you're willing to keep pursuing your intimacy with Jesus.   This never ends ... deliverance is a never-ending thing.  The devil never quits!
