The word "know" means "to be taking in knowledge".  Other words associated with know are "knowledge, knowing, recognize, understand, possess".  All of these words are relevant to us in our intimacy walk with the Lord that we're supposed to be doing. 

In the Greek/Hebrew dictionary, the Greek word for "know" is "Gnosco" which means "come to know, knowledge, recognize, understand, and understand completely".  So it isn't "all at once" ... it's a "process".  This Greek word is more relevant to intimacy than any of the other words I've found in the original language.
