Philippians 2:5b-7 ... The Anointed Jesus, Who being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God, made Himself of no reputation and took on the form of a servant and was made in the likeness of men. 

Jesus didn't have all the attributes He had in Heaven when He walked  here on the Earth.  He had to operate with the attributes as a man through the Holy Spirit.  To show us that this is what we're to do to be like Him. 

Adam and Eve had those "God" attributes as flesh beings ... the devil stole those attributes that God had given to them. 

The devil is a spirit being, not a flesh human, and must occupy a human through which to act out his evil deeds.  But he cannot occupy us believers because God is in us.  Can't both of them be in the same place because God and the devil cannot occupy the same human being.
