God is a Spirit Being.  Is being a Spirit an attribute?  An attribute is a characteristic of someone.  Some of God's attributes are: Spirit ... Agape Love  (if Love is there, God is there) ... Light ... Glory ... Omnipresent (He's here right now). 

He's all these things (and more), but we don't always see these manifested all the time.  God is a Spirit ... He's always been a Spirit.  He is always Glory, He's always Light, but we don't always recognize this because they're in the Spirit Realm. 

All of His attributes are here on this Earth, but not always manifested because with our physical eyes we're not able to see them.  We are spirit beings ... spirit beings in human form ... and we're locked into this flesh body which hinders the manifestation of all the attributes we have available to us.  God said that we won't have all of His attributes available and manifest to us until the Millenium when we'll be living in our glorified bodies.
