James 3:9,10 in the Amplified Bible says for us to never return evil for evil, or insult for insult; scolding, tongue-lashing, berating.

On the contrary ... BLESSING ... praying for the welfare, happiness, and protection of others, truly pitying and loving them.  When we do this, the Word tells us that we inherit God's BLESSINGS ... BLESSINGS as heirs, bringing us welfare, happiness, and protection.

We all desire to enjoy life and see good days, do we not?  To do this, we must keep our tongues free from evil and our lips from guile (speaking treachery, deceit.)

Verse 12 of 1 Peter 3 tells us that the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous and His ears are open to their prayers ... but that His face is against them that do evil.  We don't want to be those who speak or do evil.

All true believers desire to please God and to have Him manifest Himself in every aspect of their lives.
