Isaiah 29:13,14 (The Message Bible) ... The Master said:  "These people make a big show of saying the right thing, but their hearts aren't in it.  Because they act like they're worshiping Me, but don't mean it, I'm going to step in and shock them awake, astonish them, stand them on their ears.  The wise ones who had it all figured out will be exposed as fools. The smart people who thought they knew everything will turn out to know nothing."

Isaiah 29:13 KJV ... The Lord said, "Forasmuch as this people draw near Me with their mouth, and with their lips do honor Me, but have removed their heart far from Me, and their fear toward Me is taught by the precept of men."

Worship is relevant to where our heart is ... our soulish heart (the mind, will, and emotions) ... our relationship to our Heavenly Father's heart, our intimacy with the Father.  If we are really in love with God ... and passionate ... being intimate with Him ... this is where we'll get into true worship because our heart is going to be right.  God will accept this and we'll be blessed by it and all the right things are going to happen.  But if our worship is non-challant type of thing or an entertainment kind of worship (which is not worship at all), our hearts won't be in it and the passion isn't there.

Many Christians make Jesus their Savior, but that's as far as they go.  There's no passion in their hearts for God.  When we become older, many of us get complacent ... the Bible calls it "backsliding", and when we find ourselves in this mode, it's up to us to change it.  Amen!
