Ephesians 5:1,2 The Message Bible  ... Watch what God does, and then you do it, like children who learn proper behavior from their parents.  Mostly what God does is love you.  Keep company with Him and learn a life of love.  Observe how Christ loved us.  His love was not cautious, but extravagant.  He didn't love in order to get something from us but to give everything of Himself to us.  LOVE LIKE THAT! 

When we walk "in love" toward people, and we set conditions on our love ... "I'll love you, if" or "I love you, but"... or "I won't love you if" etc.  Those "if's" and "but's" have to fall by the wayside ... they must fall  if we are going to walk in agape...God's unconditional love. 

When we have something to gain back from people for ourselves, then it is not that true love.
