Galatians 2:20,21 ... I am crucified with Christ,
nevertheless I live, yet not I, but Christ lives in me, and
the life which I now live (in the flesh) I live by the Son
of God Who loved me and gave Himself for me. I do
not frustrate the Grace of God, for if righteousness
came by the Law, then Christ is dead in vain ... He died
for nothing!
My fleshly carnal natural man, before I became a
Christian, had to be crucified with Christ ... everyone of
us must go through this. But God does it, we don't. I
live now because I got a brand new spirit man in my
flesh body ... for without a spirit in the flesh body, our
body is dead. So to be alive on this Earth and doing
everything that we're supposed to do, we have to have
the born again spirit man in us.
The unsaved people (heathen) have a spirit man inside
of them, but it's not connected to God. It's cut off from
Him, dead towards Him. Until they decide to become
born again, their spirit man can have no relationship or
communication with Him. They operate from their soul
realm, their mind, will, and emotions.
We, as believers, operate in our soul realm also, but we
have access to the Father because He's in our spirit
man when we became born again.
