The devil can try and do everything he'd like to do, but when we're living right with God, he cannot win. He's killed a lot of Christians because they didn't have much revelation knowledge.
Philippians 3:10 says: "That I may know Him (the Lord) and the power of His resurrection." KNOWING is revelation knowledge.
I think back to when I first went into ministry. I had learned a lot of Truths ... I learned more than "I am saved and I'm going to Heaven." This is revelation knowledge ... the first basic Truth. We cannot build any of the others until we get this one.
Then I found out that God has other gifts that we are supposed to have which are rightfully ours. If nobody teaches us what those other gifts are and we don't go and seek them out for ourselves, we won't have them because they won't just automatically fall on us.
In Matthew 7:7 and Luke 11:9, Jesus tells us to ask, seek, and knock, and we shall find. Then in Matthew 6:8 He says that He knows what we need before we ask. But ask Him anyway.
There are some things that He doesn't want us to ask for though, because we already have them, and we are supposed to know this. But you won't make Him angry if you ask anyway because He knows where you are at spiritually.
