Philippians 3:13b-15 ... This one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before (ahead of us), I press toward the mark of the high calling in Christ Jesus. Let us therefore as any as be perfect (mature) be thus minded (we have the mind of Christ) and if anything you be otherwise minded, God shall reveal even this unto you.
We forget that when we become born again, we are not our own anymore. We really truly belong to Him Who bought and paid for us with His own precious blood. But He will not negate our free will to refuse to be obedient to the leading of the Holy Spirit in us. Some people will say, "If God wants me to do it, He can sure tell me, and I'll do it."
Well, do you hear the Holy Spirit Who is in you? Are you listening to Him? He's telling you what He wants you to do. Are you doing it? I can truthfully say that a lot of times He's told me something that He wants me to do, and I'll say .... "I'll do that later."
WHAT'S WRONG WITH NOW? When we want something, don't we want it NOW! But when God wants something, you say, "Later, God." You expect a "NOW" response, and He expects a "NOW" response from you.
If He didn't care whether you do it now or next week ... OK ... then you have the latitude of not doing it now. But you'd better know the difference. Unfortunately we don't always pay attention to that. We want to do what we want to do ... the Holy Spirit is trying to pull us out of that. He's continually ministering to us, continually talking to us. Sometimes we hit the "mute button" because don't want to hear what He's telling us.
