James 2:26 The Message Bible ... The very moment you separate body and spirit, you end up with a corpse.  Separate faith and works and you get the same thing: a corpse.

James 2:26 NLT ... Just as the body is dead without breath (without spirit), so also faith is dead without good works.

James compared faith without works ... or action ... to a lifeless corpse whose spirit has left its body.  Just as your physical body cannot function without your spirit, it cannot breathe, think or move, and neither can faith function.  Faith is lifeless, inoperative, without some type of action.

We are walking around on this planet as zombies playing religious games.  We're not being "little Jesus's".  So it's a necessity that we move into restoration like Adam had with God at the Beginning.
